The large man-made lake in Southeast Asia, Tasik Kenyir (tasik means lake) is both a tourist attraction and a major producer of electricity for the entire nation via its hydro-electric dam. The lake itself has a series of smaller islands that are home to a variety of flora and fauna and which host spectacular scenery, such as the Saok, Pertang and Tembat waterfalls. Would be spelunkers and people interested in archaeology should consider the Bewah and Taat limestone caves, full of prehistoric.

Lake Kenyir is also host to a wide variety of freshwater fish and a fish farm that breeds tilapia and catfish for consumption and sale to restaurants around malaysia. Anywhere from 60 to 100 tons of fish can be harvest annually from the lake. Many anglers come to Tasik Kenyir for the fishing. The lake is stocked with many varieties of fresh water fish. Good fishing spots for anglers at Kenyir are at Cacing, Pertang, Lerban and Sack-to-mention just a few. It is not unheard of for people to come to Kenyir just for the fishing.
